Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke at a meeting of the Likud faction in Maaleh Adumim today (Tuesday) for attempts at reconciliation between the PA and Hamas in Gaza."We expect anyone who talks about a peace process to recognize the State of Israel and of course to recognize a Jewish state and we are not prepared to accept imaginary appeasement in which the Palestinian side supposedly reconciles at the expense of our existence," Netanyahu said.
"Those who want to make such a reconciliation, our understanding is very simple: Recognize the State of Israel, dismantle the military wing of Hamas, sever the connection with Iran calling for our destruction and so on.
"There are very clear things, and these things are also said clearly," Netanyahu stressed.
Jerusalem is following the joint meeting of the PA and the de facto Hamas administration in Gaza this morning, for the first time in three years.
PA Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah said that the PA was interested in bringing the conflict with Hamas to an end.
