Arab League: Israel is 'playing with fire' on Temple Mount
The Arab League on Sunday accused Israel of "playing with fire" with its installation of new security measures on the Temple Mount, including metal detectors and cameras."Jerusalem is a red line," its Chief Ahmed Abul Gheit said in a statement, adding that "no Arab or Muslim will accept violations" against the city's holy sites.
Similarly, Abul Gheit accused Israel's government of "adventurism," and said its moves could trigger a "crisis with the Arab and Muslim world.”
Israel placed metal detectors at the entrances to the Temple Mount after three terrorists shot and killed two policemen on the Temple Mount on Friday, July 14. However, the Waqf (the Jordanian trust which runs the Temple Mount) refuses to comply with the new security measures, sparking rioting and attempts to harm Israeli security forces.
On Friday night, a 19-year-old Arab terrorist infiltrated the Samaria community of Neve Tzuf (Halamish), murdering 3 members of the Salomon family and seriouusly wounding another.
